THE CHURCH OF THE BOOK OF ACTS: A MODEL FOR REVIVAL

When the early church (the church of the book of Acts) was united in spirit, mind, vision, purpose, prayer, intercession, praise and worship, the Holy Spirit moved through them to bring the first, greatest revival to Jerusalem, Israel and the world.

Acts 2:44 states, “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common.” And Acts 4:32 states, “Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.”

The Lord said His perfect will for the contemporary, New Testament church is to be like the church of the book of Acts and greater still. He is now moving to bring this to pass and some of the ways He is doing this is through unity and (united) praise, worship, prayer and intercession.

God led the early Church through a four level process of growth and prosperity which included multiplication greatly;

  1. Addition: (Acts 2:47) “And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 11:24) “And a great many people were added to the Lord.”

  2. Increased addition: (Acts 5:14) “And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women.”

  3. Multiplication: (Acts 9:31) “Then the Churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified, and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.”

  4. Multiplication greatly: (Acts 6:7) “Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

Why did this occur? Because they were united and had all things in common.

The Lord revealed to me the book of Acts is a model or blueprint for revival. There were certain things the apostles and believers did which, if we follow and also do in the Church today, will not only bring multiplication greatly as the early Church saw, but something far greater - the greatest revival and harvest of souls we will see so far.
